H1N1-ing

Have you H1N1-ed yet?
#3 came home from school yesterday with fever, chills, aches and the grumpies.
She woke up this morning feeling the same and out of nowhere has a cough that makes her sound like a 100 year old chain smoker.
I looked up the symptoms of H1N1 and it is a perfect match - minus the sore throat.
There have been kids out of school because of H1N1, more and more each day.
They are telling us on every news report all about it, but I still can't decide.
They aren't testing for it anymore at the doctor's office, because they are running out of flu tests and flu season hasn't officially started.

So, I am just not sure if she really has it.

She is wearing a toboggan and a hoodie over her pajamas because she says she can't get warm.
I made her homemade chicken soup this morning.
(That should get me some Mom Points!)
Right now she is sitting all glassy eyed in front of the TV.

Question:
What could be worse than feeling bad and having a fever?

Answer:
Feeling bad, having a fever AND having homework!

Her teachers are looking out for her and sent her homework home with a friend!
She is thrilled!

I hope its not the h1n1 and I hope she is feeling better soon!

I told my girls to get the regular flu shots-the univ. was giving them for $25 on Sept. 11th...they were 'too busy'...sigh...I don't think kids take the whole flu thing seriously...will yours get the H1N1 vaccine when its out? College kids share so many germs...

take care...hope your chicken soup does the trick!

Such a Bummer! It's one of my worst fears that one of my college kids gets it. I left them with enough purell and soap to drown a country but who knows if they're using it.
Hope your young one feels better soon.
I love homemade chicken soup!

OMG I hope she feels better soon. Mine has had a cold for two weeks now. Funny how you can always tell they are sick by their eyes. Best wishes and lots of vit C and liquids.

Poor baby. She looks so glassy eyed. My senior is on retreat with 250 other senior guys. I don't even want to think of all the germs that are being passed around.

I hope she feels better real soon. That is no fun at all and homework on top of it! You'd think they would have some compassion...

If you get a chance stop by my Blog and say hi! I just put up a new post...
Have a great day,
Aimee

O Bless her heart, we just went through the same thing with my daughter. Finally over the flu and developed a sinus infection. Trying to get everybody well enough to take the real flu shot. Once is enough. Hope she is better and you don not get it.

How does one wear a toboggan? Here we have only thought to ride them down hills.
Sorry she's got the sickies. And homework. I hope you escape flu-free.
