STUCK

I am stuck on Christmas!
I know most of you have already moved on and 2010 is well on it's way, but I haven't posted our Christmas pictures. While the girls were home on Christmas break, blogging was more of a hit and run incident with me. I barely checked my email, read any blogs or did a lot of posting.

#1 and #2 both went back to school yesterday around 5:30 PM. I rode with #2 (across town) so that I could help her carry all of the bags to her room.
Th Man of the House followed behind us to bring the new TV we bought her over Christmas break.
She was embarrassed about the amount of stuff she was carting back with her.
The back of my SUV was full.... she had reason to be embarrassed!

I loved having the girls home for the extended amount of time. It was so nice to have them home without a project to do or an exam to study for.
It was just nice to be lazy together.

We had a baking night before Christmas. We put the movie Elf on the projector in the kitchen and all worked together on several batches on Candied Pecans for #3's teachers and neighbors.

Mr. Bubbles has a basket that sits in the kitchen and someone moved it to the kitchen table to get it out of our way. We found him in it, facing the movie and watching.
You can see his ear from behind.
He cracks me up.

One batch behind us......

On Christmas Eve we had a very quiet evening with just the five of us. We spent the afternoon making appetizers, punch and set the table as if we were expecting company. We don't have a sit down meal on Christmas Eve, we just graze all night long. We watch movies, usually The Santa Clause, play games and open our Christmas pajamas.

We headed to my parent's house Christmas afternoon. With my mother being sick, I did not know what to expect and really was a little reluctant. It was a hard day, very emotional for her and all of us.
She is a very particular woman and is very conscious of her appearance even as sick as she is. I know that she would not like knowing that I have posted a picture of her but I really wanted to share this picture with you.

This is late Christmas evening at my parent's house.
Christmas was over at this point, it was late and we were all too full and too tired to move.
This is in my mom's living room and we were watching Platinum Weddings. HA!
I love that my brother and the Man of the House are sitting on opposite ends of the couch, engrossed in the show too.

Well, I think I can move past Christmas now!
I have sooooo much house cleaning and organizing to do now that everyone has abandoned me and has moved on to their exciting lives!
:)
I am just kidding. I am actually looking forward to getting some things accomplished the next few days and tackling a few closets.
That IS exciting to me!
Sad but true.

Looked like a fun Christmas. I know what you mean about looking forward to the clean up. That's one of the things that gets me through the kids leaving again - looking forward to cleaning and reorganizing. Aren't we exciting?!

I loved seeing your pics...love the pink pjs.

I just returned from a trek to the central vac dealer. I thought my husband was going to have a coronary on Saturday morning because the hose would not unclog. He tried all kinds of crazy things to get it working and I was afraid he was going to pull the whole thing out of the wall so I finally convinced him I needed to take it in. A pain but it's fixed now.

My house needs major dusting, vacuuming and floor board cleaning. And the girls bathrooms? Oh my oh my....off to clean them now. Have a nice day!

Despite the fact that you've been dealing with a mother that's ill, you still made the holidays wonderful and enjoyable for your family of 5! What a great job Lisa!

I also really love the fact that you put so much into Christmas Eve for your family. Normally we go all out for friends but not so much for our families. I'm going to remember this for the holidays this year!

Good luck with all of your cleaning. I washed windows, cleaned shutters, mopped, and did some general decluttering yesterday. I was in heaven!

Love all your pictures and the girls pink pj's. We love pink at our house too. Thanks for sharing all your great Christmas pictures. Here's hoping you can get a lot done with 2 of your girls back in college. My nest is empty again, so I am into cleaning and organizing. Love & blessings from NC!

Happy New Year! Lovely pictures of your holiday! I hope your Mom is doing better soon. Trying to muster help the desire to put my house back together after holidays too, the dust bunnies are winning the war. Love your new blog layout.

Just read your question about the bean boots on my blog. They really are a great boot, I'm sure your girls would love them (they are so pretty!). I wear an 8 in shoes normally and I have an 8. I would say they run pretty true to size maybe even a little roomy. Your best bet is to go with the size you would usually wear in a regular shoe!
