PLAYING CATCH UP

Well, it is time for me to play catch up!

The services for my mother in law have come and gone.
The reality of it all is just setting in on my husband. He is thankful that his mom is no longer sick and in pain, but I know he misses her.

My mother has had scans and tests galore. She had to start emergency radiation because she was in danger of a stroke because of a tumor in her brain even before getting any real answers. Tomorrow she has an appointment at
Duke University with a specialist so I know that we will have answers tomorrow....
like them or not.
I am going and am really anxious about it. I've never done anything like this before.
I am just emotionless right now.

I want to get on to some happier, lighter more pleasant things now.

Remember this scene,
#3 in the ER with two broken bones?

Her big sister talked her into getting a white cast

so that she could decorate it.

#2 is a design student in college and she came home the night #3 got her cast
and spent several hours drawing on it.

#3 was up way past her bedtime and we payed for it the next morning!

What a great big sister she is!!

(She would make a great tattoo artist, but her father would probably disown her first!)

I didn't get a very good picture of the finished project. I will have to make sure I take one before she gets the cast off. She is getting annoyed with it and is counting the days!

I wish I could give you a big hug...I know this is a hard time in life. It's scary and I think wow if we are getting older and our parents are too and I'm not ready for this, I still feel like a kid. Nobody prepares you for this Lisa..been strong for her and lean on your hubby and let him be strong for you. I hope he is doing okay after his Mother's passing. ((Hugs)) it sucks all around my friend. I wish I had comforting words for you...you are in my prayers.

My little brother broke his wrist when he was a freshman in college and had to wear a cast...it was during lacrosse season and he had his cast molded so he could still play! Crazy kid...
#2 seems like such a loving big sis!

Love the designer cast...I was in one for many weeks a few years ago and it definitely gets old fast.

Thinking of you today and praying you find strength for the journey.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. That is wild. We do have seats in Sec. 20 at NC State! I was at the Clemson game. You should have said "hi". :) I am so sorry for the loss of your mother-in-law. I lost mine in January after a 15 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She stayed with us on/off throughout. It is such a tough thing to lose a parent. Your husband and family will be in my prayers now.

Praying for your Mom, as well as your whole family. I know this is a hard time for you right now going through this with her. So sorry about your mother-in-law's passing. Love the cast and the beautiful artwork on it. Enjoy your precious girls during their time at home for Thanksgiving. Love & blessings from NC!
