HALLOWEEN WEEKEND

Before I put all of the jack-o-lanterns away and replace them with a couple of pilgrims, I thought I would share some pictures  this morning.  We had a fun Halloween night. We ordinarily do not get many trick or treaters because our house is a chore to get to, but this year we  actually had four groups with around 12 trick or treaters in total. That is the most we have had in years.

It was nice having Halloween on a Friday. Barrett's school had a home football game so everyone dressed up for it.  This was the easiest costume to put together. We already had everything - overalls, flannel shirt, bandanas and headband.  We cut up an old hula skirt and stuffed "hay" coming out of her pockets, boots and so on.  The best thing was that she was warm at the game because she was able to layer thermals under her clothes.

Brittany was here getting ready for a Halloween party here at home, so I was able to get a picture of the two of them together.

She and BF1 were Jessica and Roger Rabbit.

Up in DC, Brooke and BFE had their own Halloween party...

Barrett asked if she cold have some friends over for a bonfire after the football game. So while she was at the game, hubs and I  set up around the fire pit.

Charlie was the helper, but he was a little leery of the fire at first.

A "few friends" turned into over forty people!  We ended up ordering pizza to go along with the s'mores, chips and salsa, veggies and dip and Little Smokies wrapped in crescent rolls. I was a little worried about the amount of people getting out of hand, but everyone was so polite and courteous and very respectful of our home. They all just sat around the fire, talked and listened to music.

Lot's of fun!
Barrett was told at school on Monday how much fun everyone had and
has already asked when she can everyone over again.

I always loved it when the teens behavior exceeded my expectations. Love polite teens and there are more out there than people realize. Happy Tuesday!

Everyone looks great!

My house was the 'party' house growing up. Everyone's favorite was the Float Party where we build the Homecoming float in our cul-de-sac and then everyone slept over on the driveway to protect it from other classes ruining it!

Your Halloween decorations are so festive and your girls all looked cute in their costumes. A fire pit party in the fall is always a lot of fun.

Cute costumes! My oldest and I are going to your daughter's school tonight to see their play. A friend's daughter is in it. Glad the kids were polite. Sounds like you are further earning the title of "cool parents" to me!
